Tengku Djan's X-1R x Speed City KL Nissan RPS13 700SX

What's up guys. It's been a very long time since the last post. We got a special invite to check out Tengku Djan's new and improved Formula Drift competition car. His Nissan RPS13 "700SX"
The last time we heard about this car was prior to Formula Drift Indonesia 2012 when he finished swapping his old SR20DET motor with a Chevrolet LS7 V8. For those who don't know, the LS7 is a well known American V8 usually found in the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and Camaro Z/28.

The LS7 has just received a new upgrade which is the Harrop Hurricane Individual Throttle Body intake. Aside from that, he also equipped the V8 with a custom Tonnka Exhaust system. Now the engine is currently outputting 600bhp and 700Nm of torque. That kind of power is not for the faint hearted.
The suspension and chassis work remains similar to 2012. Djan currently uses DG-5 coilovers and Driftworks suspension arms. Alongside that, the car is also equipped with a competition spec welded roll cage. Djan also maintains his tire set up with Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 with 245/40R17 in the front and 265/35R18 in the rear.
Prior to Formula Drift Malaysia 2013, Djan is currently doing some final tweaking on the car's set up. After finishing third in last year's FD Malaysia and second overall, he is hungry for a victory for sure this time around. Well that's all from me for now. Be sure to come down to Speed City KL on the 31st Aug to 1st Sept for Formula Drift Malaysia 2013 to support your favourite team and driver. Peace!

Garage Life: Streets is Watching.

What's up guys.

Recently I had a chance to chill with a buddy of mines, Simon at his garage. After our first meeting at an event at the PLUS Speedway in USJ, he told me about his garage and his crew, Garage Life. The reason why the name is Garage Life is due to the extensive hours they spend at the garage.
It was a Saturday night so Simon called up myself and all his buddies. Turns out at the time, they were working on their member's Nissan Silvia S14 Zenki. The crew mostly drives S-Chassis ranging from RPS13 180SX to S15. But there are also other Nissan cars like Cefiros and Skylines. Not to mention an Evo-swapped Wira.

These guys mostly drift-tune their cars. Simon even makes custom made lower arms for Silvias by the name of Madrush. Seems legit on what kind of motorsport discipline they practice since they even took a couple of their rides out sideways on the streets.
After chilling for a couple of hours, the guys decided to head out to the mean streets of Puchong for a late night cruise. With the number of rides out on the highway, ya'll might think this was out in the Wangan route in Tokyo (or not). Well that's all from me. Until next time, yo!
