What's up guys. Last month, we had a chance to follow BZ-R Racing to the first round of Seremban Ace Drift. Two out of the drivers entered the event to compete which was Zaiham 'BullZai' Hamdan and Wan Johan aka 'JoKing'. BullZai entered with his VH45 V8 powered S15 Silvia while Wan Jo drove his 2JZ powered Altezza.
In summary, both did pretty decent for qualifying but at the end, Wan Jo got knocked out in Top 8 whereas BullZai came 1st defeating Kamal 18 in the finals. Don't forget to subscribe BZR Racing TV on Youtube. Enjoy the photos, until next time. Peace!

Kanjo Inspired : Aqwa's Honda Civic EK3
What's up guys, for those who followed would already know how far I've been. But recently I felt I wanted to return to my roots. In Malaysia there are a lot of Civic users, but these particular one had a bit of history with me. Before I was any good with the camera, I was already practicing on shooting cars and Aqwa's Civic was the first car I properly shot.
When I first met Aqwa, his Civic was a very typical looking Civic you would find in Malaysia with a JDM look. Sitting on Advan rims, standard offsets and a slight drop. Now it's all different now. Still keeping it clean but now with some colour on those Work Wheels. According to Aqwa, he did his car according to the Civics from Osaka JDM which is running a stock engine, having a decent stance but most importantly keeping it clean.
We first had some coffee at a restaurant in a dark area of Puchong, to me it was the perfect place to shoot so we ended up doing some shots just 500 meters from the restaurant. After that, at 12 midnight, we went out and rolled on the Damansara Puchong Highway.
As it rolls, I realized how this car adapted from two different styles over the past 3 years or so. Yet it still kept clean and admirable. I wouldn't be surprised since Aqwa isn't into the pursuit of horsepower and drag times like most Civic guys. I guess that's why he calls his car 'Puteri' ('Princess' in Bahasa Malaysia).
But looks ain't always how it seems. After shooting, we hung out and talk about their weekend adventures highway boosting with their crew that they call themselves 'LowJunkies' as the live with the code to have both form and function. I got to say, these boys don't f*ck around.

Good Morning, Skyline : Nissan Skyline Owners Club Meet
What's up, guys. A few weeks ago, I got a chance to go to a meet and greet and car boot sale with the Malaysian Skyline Owners Club. Since it was a morning meet, I had to get up early and even skipped breakfast to get there.
It was an unofficial meet so everything was informal. Most of the members came there for breakfast and bonded. But I was amazed to see Skylines from every era to be in one small space. We got the R32s, R33s, R34s, one R35 and even the classics.
For the next meet, it is going to be a charity drive and car boot sale up in Janda Baik, Pahang on the 12th April. I will be doing coverage for that event. For more photos, tune in at our Mat Canyon Facebook Page. That's all from me. Until next time. Peace!

#IAMSPEEDHUNTER: Workshops Of The World Unite
What's up guys. I'm just taking a little time for this post. Recently Speedhunters, a well known automotive and motorsport photography website had an open submission called #IAMSPEEDHUNTER open to any talented photographer to submit their work. Their most recent theme was "The Workshop Theme" where they are looking for photos in a garage and workshop type of environment. I submitted one from my archives which was a photo of the GarageLife guys having a friendly debate. After much waiting, I was pleased to know that the photo survived the cut and was featured on Speedhunters. I was grateful that I was selected to be a featured alongside some really outstanding shots. With this, I will make it a stepping stone for me to bring better and more outstanding shots from the street and tuning scene of Malaysia and beyond. Don't forget to check out the original article. Peace!

Hidden Starlet: Toyota Starlet KP60
Unexpected finds can come in many forms. A few weeks back I was making an overnight road trip to the sleepy town of Kuala Lipis, Pahang out in central West Malaysia. The reason was I wanted to see and old teacher and a friend of mine. After doing what I wanted to do, my friend brought me to meet his buddy who worked at the local hospital,
The ride, a very old and very functional Toyota Starlet KP60. What was special about this ride? I was amazed by the original and rare parts stuffed on this car. From running the same original engine (yes, stock and still running) to its super rare original 13 inch Enkei AP Racing rims sourced from Japan.
After taking some routine shots at the hospital parking lot, we decided to roll out and find a drink. As I watch it roll in the quiet streets of Lipis, it is clear to see that his ride is as undisturbed as the streets of Lipis at night. All it had to show was itself on a proper no BS stance. What more can I say, I'm not really a retro ride person but this car intrigued me. Well, that's all from me, until next time. Peace!
